The FDM Process The process consists in extruding thermoplastic material into a semi liquid status (about 270°C) and in fouling it in layers through a nozzle. The material used by PROT-FASC is the ABS polymer. The working head is provided with two nozzles and this allows to extrude both prototype and framework at the same time. Once the process is completed, framework will be removed first mechanically and then chemically by using acids.
Prototypes Starting from a 3D drawing file (preferably IGES or STL), PROT-FASC can provide complete samples in polymeric material and allow: · Aesthetic evaluations · Practical tests of interference between parts · Assembling tests · Functional tests for all those components that do not require mechanical strength. Moreover, assembling the pieces you can achieve all dimension prototypes. |
